Benny and Josh Safdie won the best director award for 'Uncut Gems,' and Quentin Tarantino won best screenplay for 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,' while Antonio Banderas, Laura Dern, Lupita Nyong'o and Joe Pesci were recognized in the acting categories.
The New York Film Critics Circle on Wednesday named Martin Scorsese's The Irishman as its best picture of 2019.
In addition, the critics group voted Benny and Josh Safdie as best director for Uncut Gems, while Quentin Tarantino won best screenplay for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
Pain and Glory's Antonio Banderas and Us star Lupita Nyong'o were named best actor and actress, respectively, while Laura Dern won supporting actress honors for both Marriage Story and Little Women, and Joe Pesci was recognized for his supporting work in The Irishman.
Parasite was named best foreign-language film, while I Lost My Body won for best animated film.

Founded in 1935, the organization’s membership includes critics from daily newspapers, weekly newspapers, magazines and qualifying online general-interest publications. Every year in December, the group meets in New York to vote on awards for the previous calendar year’s films.
In addition to the regular categories, which include best picture, director, actor and actress, special stand-alone awards are given to individuals and organizations that have made substantial contributions to the art of cinema, including producers, directors, actors, writers, critics, historians, film restorers and service organizations.
The awards will be handed out in New York in January.
Last year, the NYFCC selected Roma as the best picture of 2018.
