Meghan Markle's dad was 'jealous' watching Prince Charles walk her down the aisle - Page Six

Meghan Markle‘s dad says he cried watching her royal wedding on TV when he was a no-show — because he was “jealous” of Prince Charles walking her down the aisle.

“I stayed in a safe house and watched the wedding,” Thomas Markle, 75, said of going into hiding amid the uproar of him missing his daughter’s big day in May 2018 that was watched by millions around the world.

“My daughter looked beautiful. I wish that I could have been there with her,” he told a UK documentary that aired Wednesday night.

Markle said he was “appreciative” that his daughter at least had Prince Charles there to walk her down the aisle — but also torn up as it brought home that he should have been there, he admitted.

“I was jealous because I really wanted to do that. I admit I cried a bit about that,” he said. “To this day, I can’t forget that moment.”

His decision to skip the wedding sparked a feud that he admits may mean him never again seeing his daughter — and potentially never get to meet son-in-law Prince Harry nor grandson Archie.

Markle — who had been publicly exposed for setting up paparazzi shots for cash before the wedding — insisted he was forced to stay away because of a “massive heart attack” that stopped him from flying.

“If I didn’t treat the heart attack, I wouldn’t be here now,” he told the 90-minute documentary.

With the wedding just days away, Markle claims he had choice words with Prince Harry after he did not show the sympathy he felt he deserved.

He claims he told the Duke of Sussex that “It’s a shame I didn’t die because you both could pretend that you’re sad” — then hung up.

“I haven’t heard from them or spoken to them since.”

Markle shared home videos from the time Meghan lived with him, from the ages fo 11 and 18, calling it “my happiest years.”

“Meghan was my most important relationship and my pride and joy,” he said.

“I miss Meghan. I miss who she was. I don’t know she is now. That’s the problem.”

He now believes his daughter is “destroying” the royal family with the scandal of her and Harry’s Megxit.

“They couldn’t have done anything worse to harm the Queen – probably the most loved and respected woman in the world,” he said.
