'Royal Family': What are Meghan Markle's Favorite Foods? - Showbiz Cheat Sheet

People have been enamored with Meghan Markle since before she even became royal. She has always had a calm and sophisticated air about her that can’t be ignored.

Since she married Prince Harry, the public’s infatuation with Markle has only grown more intense and more and more people have wanted to be just like the Duchess.

Markle took a break from the public eye after giving birth to her son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten Windsor, but she has recently begun making appearances once again.

Since her return, people have noticed that the former actress certainly doesn’t look like she just had a baby. She has bounced back into shape and is looking great again.

So, how does she maintain her figure? What does the Duchess of Sussex like to eat?

She doesn’t diet

Markle tries to maintain a healthy lifestyle and stays away from strict diets.

“I think if you deprive yourself of anything you’re just going to crave it more, so for me, it’s just finding that balance,” Markle once told Shape Magazine. “Eating really good during the week and then treating yourself to whatever it is that you want over the weekend.”

What are Markle’s favorite dishes?

While Markle does like to eat pretty clean, one of her guilty pleasures is pasta.

“When I’m traveling, I won’t miss an opportunity to try great pasta,” Markle told Delish in an interview.

But when she cooks her own pasta, she makes it a little healthier by using zucchini pasta sauce.

“The sauce gets so creamy you’d swear there’s tons of butter and oil in it, but it’s just zucchini, water and a little bouillon,” she told the outlet.

But pasta isn’t the only indulgence that the Duchess allows herself.

“French fries and vino are my vices,” she said. She loves Tignanello, Argentinian Malbecs, French cabernets, and pinot noirs.

“In the summer, though, when I’m out with my friends, it’s rosé all day,” she said.

She also really loves fish tacos.

“Being from Los Angeles, I was conditioned to like Baja-style food from the womb,” Markle once told Today.

Cooking up tacos was a regular activity for Markle in her pre-royal life.

“Grill some peppers and onions and a couple filets of fish (a flaky white fish works best),” she said. “Season everything with salt and pepper, a little lime and stuff it all inside of a warm corn tortilla. Few bites of food make me happier than that.”

Tonight’s highly anticipated game between the #Yankees and #RedSox took place at London stadium, Olympic Park. The @WeAreInvictusGames, of which His Royal Highness is Founding Patron, has been selected as charity partner for the @MLB 2019 series. The Invictus Games Foundation is the international charity that oversees the development of the Invictus Games, an international adaptive multi-sport event in which wounded, injured or sick armed service personnel and veterans participate. It celebrates the power of sport in recovery and how it can help, physically or psychologically, those suffering from injuries or illness. The word ‘invictus’ means ‘unconquered’ – it embodies the fighting spirit of the competitors. As part of the partnership, the Invictus Games Foundation have a team participating in London’s #Softball60, the social softball series built for the city and targeted to introduce the sport to new audiences and demonstrate that it is an inclusive sport. How does Markle stay healthy?

Markle has been keeping a relatively clean diet for years.

According to Delish, back when she was an actress, she would start the day off with hot water with lemon to help with digestion. Then she would eat steel-cut oats with bananas and agave syrup.

For lunch, Markle typically ate a salad with some sort of protein. Later, she would eat an apple with almond butter as a snack. If she got hungry and wanted something else, she’d typically get some green juice.

“Green juice is a food-as-medicine philosophy for me,” she said. She would drink it as a way to boost her energy in the afternoon.

And then in the evening, she would treat herself to zucchini pasta and some wine.
